Alfred Hitchcock is one of the most celebrated directors to have ever graced the landscape of film. With massive films such as Psycho (1960) and Vertigo (1958) Hitchcock became known as The Master of Suspense and considered on par with the likes of other Brits like Shakespeare. So with such an acclaimed human being it would have to be a pretty spectacular performance. Although we do not just have one performance of the masterful director but two! The first comes from Toby Jones in HBO's The Girl, these photos were recently released by HBO and its one of the first pictures of Jones as Hitchcock. The story is based around the relationship between Hitchcock and actress Tippi Hedren, played by Sienna Miller. By the look of things Sienna Miller has nailed Hedren appearance but her performance has yet to be viewed.
Jones has serious competition by immense actor Anthony Hopkins. As you can see Hopkins, famed for his role as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs has completely transformed physically into the role. Hopkins is well known for his intense role but of late he has been taking less intense roles, just look at The Rite, but he appears to be back on form in Hitchcock. It also boasts the talent of Helen Mirren as Hitchcock's wife and the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel. With such talent it would appear that has got The Girl beat. This may be the case but both are going to do The Master of Suspense proud and have become part of the Hitchcock legacy.
