Hollywood has a horrific habit of remaking films, just this year such classics as Carrie and The Evil Dead have under gone modern transformations. Whatever they are calling it now days, remake, re-branding or re-booting, some films have to be immune from greedy producers trying to get their hands over any property that will turn a profit. You wouldn't remake Indiana Jones, you wouldn't remake The Goonies, so why are they remaking Gremlins? It would take a brave man to argue that Gremlins is as good as Indiana Jones but it shares the same sentimental place in people's heart that reminds them of their childhood.Dark Shadows writer Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg have been given the momumetual task of bringing Gizmo back to the silver screen after a twenty three years hiatus. Its not only Gremlins that can't escape their mitts, Beetlejuice is on the cards for the remake treatment. Expect more 80's classic to comeback to our screens, whether you want it or not.
